Paul has worked hard to create his beautiful garden despite having a disability that restricts his mobility. Each season his garden is transformed with a different array of flowers, shrubs and trees showcasing the colours of the season. He spreads his love of gardening by providing friends and neighbours with hanging baskets and plants for their own gardens. People always stop to admire his garden and visit him for his expert gardening tips.

Terry has been hard at work during lockdown transforming the garden at Newfield House independent living scheme. He has bought seeds and used his own saplings to bring new life to the garden. It is now bright and cheerful and allows residents to enjoy some time outside while social distancing and if they can’t get out they can now enjoy the colourful flowers from their windows. Terry has used his extensive gardening knowledge to create a beautiful space. It really has brought the community of Newfield House together during these difficult times.

John Harrison and Anne Lumb

John and Anne are two neighbours in Ossett who work as a team to make the garden area surrounding their bungalows look beautiful. They have quite a large area to maintain but the lawns are always very neatly mowed and very green. They have a fabulous array of flowers and plants in lots of colours, these always attract positive comments from people walking past. Their dedication really improves the local area and shows they are proud of where they live.
